BARBARA STEFANSKA

RESEARCH LABORATORY

Marco Tello
Marco studied Genomic Sciences at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) before completing his MSc at the University of British Columbia. Now a bioinformatician in Stefanka’s lab, he works with multi-omic datasets to understand how polyphenols can protect cells from harmful chemicals, and how polyphenols can help stressed cells to recover a healthy state.
He’s particularly interested in how epigenetic changes influence gene regulation and in developing new computational approaches to analyze complex, high-dimensional datasets.
Outside the lab, Marco enjoys playing board games, swimming, and painting.
